The Kitchen

The kitchen in the Gunyah tiny house is single-sided, meaning that it spreads across one wall only. Even though it’s compact, it still features everything required for prepping, cooking, and enjoying meals.

Precisely speaking, it has high-quality Rhino ply soft-close cupboards and drawers for organizing your utensils and equipment. The combination of white cabinets, wooden countertops, and black stainless-steel sink, tapware, and appliances provide an amazing contemporary look.

Some of the amazing features of this modern, yet highly functional kitchen, include a clever in-sink strainer, an under-sink pull-out bin, and a cypress pine shelf above the large kitchen window. There’s also space for a drawer dishwasher and a bar fridge.

The Awning Window

On the opposite wall of the kitchen, there’s a breakfast bar that can cater to two people comfortably. However, what’s best about this bar is that it is in front of an amazing awning window. Imagine how great it would be to take advantage of such a feature.

The Living Area

For instance, you can choose to have a two- or three-seater couch, a TV on a wall bracket, and a small side table. The second layout allows you to fit a queen-size mattress, a TV on a wall bracket, and large storage drawers underneath the bed base.

Apart from the layout, it’s important that we mention that, unlike the popular belief of cabins being dark and dingy, the Gunyah is quite bright, spacious, and airy thanks to the whitewashed pine panel walls and the extra large windows.

The starkness of the whitewashed walls is successfully smoothened by using cypress pine flooring and a ladder for access to the loft. The same wood is also used for the spindle balustrade at the loft area which works great for safety and for providing an illusion of privacy.

The Loft Bedroom

The loft bedroom might be cozy, but it provides exceptional comfort and everything you are looking for in a sleeping area. There’s enough room to include a double-size mattress and a side table for keeping your phone, glasses, books, etc.

Another great feature of the loft area is the A-frame ceiling. It allows you to stand up in the middle to make your bed or get dressed. Plus, the big ceiling window right above the bed not only lets lots of natural light in but also allows you to enjoy star-watching at night.

The Bathroom

The Gunyah tiny house has a bathroom which keeps the home’s rustic theme while providing superb functionality. For instance, it has a custom-made sliding barn door with black hardware not only for aesthetics but also for space-saving purposes, which is key in tiny homes.

In addition, it also ties in well with the rest of the house by having whitewashed walls, a custom-made cypress sink, and a shelf cypress above the toilet. However, the bathroom floor isn’t cypress pine of course, but epoxy which is extremely easy to clean.

But, what’s most surprising is that, although compact, the bathroom in this spectacular tiny home has a spacious 900m x 900x shower. Plus, it features a composting toilet which can be swapped with a traditional flush model.
